Maruti Wagon R Flex Fuel: Maruti is developing its first flex-fuel car for the Indian market, which will run on sugarcane juice. Maruti’s first vehicle is going to be a compact vehicle, which is expected to be launched in the Indian market by 2025.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Flex Fuel has been launched at the Auto Expo and is one of the highlights of the Maruti Suzuki range. However, the company had earlier also showcased it at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers Technology (SIAM) in December 2022. Maruti Suzuki is going to develop it locally with local engineers. The car will be designed to run on a 20% to 85% blended ethanol engine.
It will be powered by the current 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. However, it will undergo major changes in its engine due to which it will be able to provide better power than the ethanol mixed engine. Its companion, this engine will also be BS6 compliant and mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki says the ethanol engine-based Maruti Wagon R will be 79 percent less polluting than the petrol version. While its performance and power will also be the same as the petrol version.

What is flex fuel?
Flex fuel engine is an alternative fuel made from a blend of petrol, methanol or ethanol. Flex-fuel vehicle engines are designed to run on more than one type of fuel. Many changes have been made to the engine and fuel system. Which is why it appears. Like normal petrol models. Flax fuel is produced from corn and corn, which is why it can also be called alcohol base fuel.
Starch and sugar are fermented in its manufacturing process, and ethanol engines are also more fuel-efficient than regular gasoline. While the price of petrol in the Indian market is around Rs 100, the price of ethanol is going to be between Rs 60 and Rs 70. And besides, it is going to be a boon for our farmers as well. The condition of the farmers of our country will also improve and our economy will also develop further.
